The second edition of Ethno Catalonia brought together almost 40 musicians from Catalonia/Spain, Algeria, Australia, Brasil, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, India, Ireland, Jordan, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Sweden and Tunisia!

Playing over 25 different instruments, our first participants took the picturesque town of Banyoles, where our music camp is located, between 7th and 17th July - learning and teaching each other Traditional & Folk songs, digging into local traditional music for 10 Summer Folk days by the shores of a gorgeous swimming lake.

The Ethno Catalonia group made sure to rehearse, jam and also perform individual/group concerts perform at the main venue in Banyoles (Ateneu de Banyoles), as the Ethno camp grew into a small folk festival for the people of Banyoles to participate in and enjoy.

Finally, the newly created Ethno orchestra took off for a 4-day tour at important Summer festivals of the country: World Music Festival in Barcelona, Paupaterres in Tàrrega and Pirineos Sur in Huesca, then bringing back their music to Banyoles for the final concert at the main square, with the whole town celebrating!

In 2018, we are welcoming 40 musicians from anywhere in the world to join Ethno Catalonia, between 6th and 16th of July, with the Ateneu de Banyoles venue as our music lab, the lake as our inspiration, improved accommodation, as well as a 4-day concert tour at international festivals in Barcelona, Huesca, Moià and a final gig in Banyoles!
